Privacy and personal data
We hold a copy of the public registers of who owns real property and who is behind Danish companies. If you own real property, you are in it — even if you have never had any dealings with us. We did not get the information from you but from a public authority, so we have to tell you what we hold and what you can do about it.

We hold a copy of the public registers of who owns real property in Denmark and who is behind Danish companies. If you own real property, or you are registered in a company, you are in that copy — even if you have never had any dealings with us.
We did not get the information from you. We obtained it from public authorities. That is why we have to tell you what we hold, where it comes from, and what you can do about it. That is what this page is for.
§ 2
We are the data controller for the copy. That means we decided ourselves to obtain the information, and we are the ones you should contact.
We do not process the register data on behalf of our customers. The decision to obtain and keep it is our own.

The copy contains these types of information:
We also keep a history of the name and address you have been registered with over time. We use it solely to determine whether you are the same person as a debtor in a case — for nothing else.

All information comes from public registers. We obtain it from:
We combine the information from the two registers so that we can see whether a person in the property register is the same person as one in the business register. That combination is our own inference — it is not stated in any register. We make it only when name and address match, or when the name is unique in both registers, and we do not make it if there is any doubt.

§ 5
We are an authorised debt collection company. When a customer has a claim against a debtor, we need to assess whether there is anything to recover — and whether the person the claim is directed at is the right one. Without property and company information we can do neither.
The purposes of the processing are therefore two: to establish that we have the right person, and to assess whether there are assets to recover from. We do not use the information for any other purpose — not for marketing, not to build profiles, and not to resell.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation: the processing is necessary for us and our customers to pursue a legitimate interest — being paid a claim that is lawfully owed.
We have carried out a written balancing of that interest against your rights. You can ask to see it by writing to us.
§ 6
The information is shown to our staff when they work on a case, and to the customer who has a claim against the debtor concerned. The customer sees it in order to follow their own case.
If you are not a debtor yourself but appear as a co-owner of a property, your name and your share of ownership may be shown alongside that property. We do not show any other information about you in that context.
We do not sell the information, and we do not publish it. Our processors — for example the vendor operating the server — process it only on our instructions and are listed in our register of sub-processors.
The information stays in the EU. The copy is held on a server in France, and we do not transfer it to countries outside the EU/EEA. If that changes, we will say so here and state the basis on which the transfer takes place.
§ 7
The copy follows the source. We retrieve the registers again every night, and if a piece of information disappears from the public register, it disappears from our copy at the next update.
So if you sell your property, you stop appearing in the copy once the change has taken effect in the Register of Property Owners. You do not have to do anything.
If the information is used in a specific collection case, it is kept as part of that case under the periods set out in the privacy policy for debt collection. That is a separate retention with its own justification.
§ 8
We do not edit the content of the registers — we reproduce it. If a piece of information is wrong, it must be corrected at the source, and the correction then reaches us at the next nightly update.
If, on the other hand, it is our own inference that is wrong — for example if we have linked you to a company you have nothing to do with — then it is our error, and we will correct it. Write to us.

You have the right to:
Write to us at the email address in section 2. We reply within one month. If the request is complex, we may extend the deadline by two months — you will be told within the first month.
In order to reply, we need to be able to establish that you are who you say you are. We therefore ask for enough information to identify you unambiguously — and never for more than that.

If you are unhappy with how we process your information, we would like to hear from you first. You can always complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency:

If we change which registers we obtain, what information we keep, or who can see it, we update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we say so clearly on the page.
If the error is in the register, it has to be corrected at the source, and the correction then reaches us. If it is our own inference that is wrong, we fix it.
