SMS

Rieck sends the reminder as a text message with a link to the payment page — where an email gets missed. The customer taps the link, sees the case and can pay straight away.

How the SMS is used

The text message is a shortcut, not the letter itself. The soft steps can go by SMS first and email after, while a formal letter always goes by a written channel, with the SMS as a notice that it is on its way. The link is protected by the case code, the amount stays out of the message, and no SMS is sent at night.
